Taking the train to Shinbashi was great- it was totally full of Horikoshi students (best uniforms ever)- on the way back (AKA now) there's nothing but yawning salarymen picking their noses. Ewww please old men stop picking your noses!!! I had to make a blog entry just so Id look busy and I could avoid staring in disgust. 3 more stations to go!

It's hard to keep up with this.. lol. I think I'll do a better job of updating once I start working full time.. I think I'll have time in between classes to blog. Anyway, a short summary of this weeks happenings:

Monday: After school, I went out with Niko and Sam to McDonalds.. it's funny how I never go in Canada, but I have no problems going in Japan. I swear we ate like 3 meals there... but really I go for the coffee, I think it tastes better than starbucks~ !! (^^). The weather was REALLY bad that day and so we didn't want to leave and venture out into the terrible rain and after an hour or so, Niko had to have a smoke so we moved up a floor to the smoker's floor... which was sooo cloudy and even the ceiling was yellow haha. I have this on video if anyone's interested. Sam and I coughed a bunch and both had to wash our clothes later cause they smelled so bad. They need more ventilation there...

Tuesday: Went out for Gyoza with the usual + Frank and Sho. Tasty.. and I forgot completely what else happened this day...

Wednesday: This day was fun :) After school, we (yes, Niko, Sam and I) went down to Akiba and ate at : @Home. Yes, a maid cafe. This was fun, mainly because I got to watch Sam and Niko die of embarrassment! haha They almost chickened out when we got to the door. It was hilarious when our food came and we had to make our hands in the shape of hearts and wave them over the food, saying "Moe Moe Kyuuuuun" to "make it delicious" hhahahahah. Oh Japan. We weren't allowed to take any pics inside, but Sam got a pic with one of the maids ^^ After we walked from Akiba to Ueno- I didn't know you could do that in only 15 minutes haha.

Thursday: Saw Shelyn and talked for a few hours in a cafe in the station. It's funny, whenever I meet up with her, she's sends a text saying "Where are you? I'll come there" and I always answer with "I don't know :(" hahaha but yeah it's always fun when I hang out with her ^^
Then went to work in Shinbashi.

Friday: Went to the park, became really lazy, and then watched yatterman and- the best part of the night- slept for 9 STRAIGHT HOURS. OMG it's been soooooooooooo long since I've done that. Last time when I tired to sleep 7ish straight hours, I was woken up by the smoke alarm. Then the next night I attempted again, only to be woken up by my drunk roomamtes banging on the door like lunatics because they forgot their keys and needed to be let in. But last night- glorious glorious sleep was had ^^

And for breakfast I had green tea ice cream + coffee while watching an old ep of MagoMago. I feel normal again.

Some really really random pics:

The black building is a computer store in Akiba.. a great place if you want to build your own custom super-computer. One day I'll get to build one there..

A Shrine in Ueno park: Sam pointed out that the "Japanese feeling" is lost when you can see the massive sign in the back advertising for Yodobashi Camera- a large electronics store. I say it enhances the Japanese-ness of the place LOL

Then we saw the sunset over a beautiful scenery of train tracks haha

I love Aloe yogurt- by far it's my fave... So I was excited when I saw this new version with 3 times the size of aloe pieces. But I felt totally gypped cause there were only 4 pieces in it!! Arg. I will be buying regular from now on.

And I was watching TV and Nino's CM for this product came on, so I went to Famima and picked it up! advertising always works on me haha. Sidenote: I can see why it's only 97 calories... the soup only fills up half the cup. The rice cracker top is a good idea though.

I wish I can record and keep track of all the things that make me think "Thank God I'm in Japan". I get flashes of that alot actually, but I can't remember them now (>.<)

So it's 3:42am and the fire alarm has been ringing since 3:20ish. I've been sooo tired lately that I went to bed early (11:30) for about 7 full glorious hours of sleep and OF COURSE of course this has to happen. Now everyone in the building keeps running out of their rooms and swearing at the top of their lungs.

FINALLY the fire men are here. Good I hope they turn this thing off right away.

It's off 3:53 and I just talked to a cop. Someone just pressed the emergency button and of course no one knows how. He just asked if we did it, and I'm like NOOOO we were all sleeping, the alarm woke us up and we all had to get dressed and yeah. Not our fault.

Anyway back to sleep now.

So I just went to the 7-11 directly in front of my house to get some chocolate-covered chips and some change for the laundry machine... and when I went to pay- I literally stopped in my tracks- the cashier was a WHITE GUY *gasp*!!

Seriously, I have NEVER seen a gaijin working at a 7-11 wow. To double check I read his name tag... it was written in katakana holy shiiizzzz was all I could think. So strange!!

I was saying to my friends that I think immigration let in all everyone this year!
If this doesn't support my theory I don't know what else does.

And then I went to remove my laundry from the dryer, it had just 2 mins left, so I opened the door because then the dryer stops right?? WRONG my stuff flew out everywhere and is dirty again (-_-). Of course.

wow gaijin working at 7-11 in Nakano!!

I still can't get over it, and he spoke to me in English. I kinda want to go again just to gawk at him haha.

I remember seeing gaijin girls working at the mister donuts in Shibuya.. but that makes sense, it was Shibuya and they spoke to everyone in Japanese.

I am still shocked.

I went to Tokyo Eki to meet up with Ruiko today!!!
I haven't seen her for like 2 years so it was great to see her again :)
Kinda funny since we were like 5 meters from eachother and couldn't find eachother for a half hour, we kept calling and texting "where are you??" and still it took us that long to find eachother haha.

We went to a cafe in the station and talked for about 2 hours before she had to catch the shinkansen back home and she just about missed it by a minute! I'm glad that she made it on though cause really after being on a plane that long I know the feeling of just wanting to go home and shower+sleep.

It was totally fun and I was so happy to see her and can't wait to see her again (^_^)

I woke up early today to help Niko wheel his luggage from Mitaka to Kita-Ikebukuro. It wasn't too bad for me since I was carrying the light stuff. Niko bought me a coffee (^_^)v but spilled his :(

Afterwards, since I was in Ikebukuro anyway, I went to Sugamo! I *heart* Sugamo for all its free food samples haha.Since my throat has been scratchy the last couple of days I wanted to buy some garlic soup paste... sadly the price went up 100en since last time. But I got it anyway and some senbei. I couldn't resist the sembei...it was Yuzu flavored (I've never seen those before so I had to buy it. Then as I walked a bit and I saw a line-up of people.. and they were lined up for taiyaki for only 90en! I've never seen them that cheap! Usually they're 300ish. So naturally I stood in line for 15 mins to get one. For those that have never had one, it tastes like a thick pancake and mine had anko (sweet red bean paste) in it- my fave (o~-')b

Right off the grill so it's still hot is the best ^^

Now I'm on the train home. And I will never transfer at Kasuga again- it took 15 mins to walk from the mita lind to the marunouchi line (*_*)

And it was basically down massive escalators into the core of the earth, then a 500m walk through a maze, and back up again. Did not like!

Almost home YAY
